Integrated Tribal Development Foundation (ITDF) is an NGO in Thailand who provides resources for the farmers to produce a coffee that would not be just ‘good enough’ to get by, but a coffee that could compete with the top producers. Since 1961, the ITDF has been offering agricultural training, equipment, and improved Arabica coffee varieties that can thrive in regions like Chiang Rai, where the highlands were mostly used for opium production for decades.
Today, there are over 400 farms in 40 villages that participate in this program, all of which are 100% farmer-owned.
