Syphon Brew Guide

Syphon Coffee
  • Coffee: 22g
  • Grind Size: Medium fine (like table salt)
  • Water: 330g. 93°C/200°F
  • Total Brew Time: 2.5 – 3 Minutes
  • Yields appx. 1.5 cups
Start timer right after the coffee is added.

PREP

  1. Fill the bottom chamber with 330g of water.
  2. Secure the top chamber loosely/diagonally with a filter placed at the bottom of the top chamber. Make sure the chain is hooked on the edge of the tube. Be careful not to completely secure the top chamber just yet.
  3. Place both chambers over a heat source.
  4. Keep an eye on the chain and look for bubbles to cling to it. Once this happens, secure the top chamber completely.
  5. Wait until the water rises and fills the top chamer and add the coffee in right away. Start timer.

IMMERSE

  1. Immediately stir the coffee vigorously for the first 10 seconds. Rest 20 seconds.

BREW

  1. Stir lightly for 10 seconds. Rest 20 seconds.
  2. Repeat Step 6 until timer reaches 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

DRAIN

  1. (Optional) Wrap the bottom chamber with a cold, damp towel to spped up the filtering proess.
  2. Once filtering process is complete, remove the top chamber and serve.
