Start timer right after the initial pour.
Check time when draining is complete.
PREP
- Wet the filter in the cone of the Chemex with hot water.
- Place 40g ground coffee. Tap the side to even out the bed. Zero out the scale.
BLOOM
- Pour 80g water to evenly wet all the grounds, then start the timer. Wait 30 seconds for the coffee to de-gas.
BREW
- Pour 300g of water in a circular motion over the next 30 seconds.
- Wait for the water to drain half way (about another 40 seconds), then intermittently pour the rest of the water over the next 90 seconds.
DRAIN
- Let drain entirely.
